North Shore Talking Trees Tours: It would be a shame to come to Vancouver and not experience the North Shore mountains first hand. Our First Nations guide will introduce you to our ancient forests while we share our rich stories and the ancient lore of this magnificent area. Learn how we Coast Salish peoples have lived off the land for many centuries via a complex and deep understanding of nature that allowed our peoples’ to develop generations upon generations of intricate ecological practices. We will walk and hike along the ancient paths while we listen to the legends each tree has to tell. Along the way, your guide will point out local plants that were harvested for food, shelter, art and medicine.

Requirements: Please bring the proper footwear, a water bottle & dress for the weather.
Location: Whyte Lake, North Vancouver.

Sunshine Coast – Tetrahedron First Nations Guided Day Hike

Hike BC’s newest park – The Tetrahedron. The Tetrahedron is one of the biggest on the Sunshine Coast and covers 15,000 acres. The park offers old-growth rain forest, stunning views of the Coastal Mountains, beautiful meadows, lakes, streams and wetlands.

This tour is provided by Talaysay Tours on behalf of North Shore Kayaks, you are invited to join a local First Nations guide on this full day hike and learn about the traditional medicinal or food uses for the local plants, as well as learn about First Nations culture and local history.

Stop at Edward Lake to enjoy a delicious lunch. You may also wish to swim in the lake for a refreshing swim. If energy allows we will continue on and hike to the peak of Mount Steele to take in the magnificent views of the Inlets below and the mountain ranges of Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Group rates are available. This tour includes snacks, lunch and day pack.

Pricing: $169/pp adult; $140/pp for children 10-14 years of age.
Departure: Daily – May through September. This is a custom tour designed to meet your groups’ needs and interests. 4-12 guests, 6-7 hours.
Note: Children should be 10 years or older due to the physical requirements of this trip. Starts/ends 555 Sunshine Coast Highway, tems swiya Museum (free parking).
